PPS是一種耐高溫合成纖維。它具有優異的耐熱性。此外其阻燃性、耐化學藥品性、尺寸穩定性等也極為出眾，具備了作為高性能纖維的各種特點。聚四氟乙烯（PTFE）薄膜表面光滑且耐化學物質，將其覆合到PPS針刺氈的表層，起到了一次性粉塵層的作用，將粉塵全部截留在膜的表面，實現表層過濾；又因該薄膜表面光滑，有極佳的化學穩定性，不老化，又憎水，使截留在表面的粉塵很容易剝落，同時提高了濾料的使用壽命。
